ART MEETS SCIENCE

To see plasticized flesh follow my link ....this is the most controversial art to roll accross the world house in a while. Plastinated flesh. Presently in the windly city and comming north to Toronto in September of 30th this will be something to see. You really have to read the articles concerning the display, otherwise one is thrown into a Romero-esque Dali landscape of flesh puppetry. Simply amazing. A must see! I'm short on time right now....must go ....but this is worth every word....only in L.A. would a plastinated fetus be targeted by thieves. Outrageous!

Hyper Reflectivity In Times Of Absolute Meaninglessness

Somewhere between Thoreau's simple analogy of railroads being built upon the back's of men and Marx's theory of commodity I pondered what systems operate off the output of some underpaid population today. The answer shocked me.
As the growing market supplies more and more products to greater and greater population with wants....we've all fallen, hook line and sinker for an imposed ideology. We all work in some fashion as part of the manufacture, delivery, or consumption of some product. The ultimate conclusion then is, to quote Deleuze and Guattari, we're "desiring machines." The absolute irony is that businesses serve to codify desire thus we work for a system that seeks to deliver wares which we think we want because the system suggests so. Wanting....a topic of Buddha, Marx, Deleuze and Guattari.....

FRONTLINE-ONLINE

Being the news and documentary junkie I am, I'm quick to share this source of information. W-5 also has numerous docs on line as well as Witness. Why do I go on ranting about the need for change? I'm not sure ... but one thing is certain, if one person somewhere out there in this new digital medium opens up to just one new idea...

James Joyce stated that "all social changes are the effect of new technologies...(and McLuhan continued), that guarantees that every major technical innovation will so disturb our inner lives that wars necessarily result as misbegotten efforts to recover old images."
McLuhan & Fiore in War and Peace in the Global Village 1968

"The natural mind is intrinsicly beautiful, buoyant, free, and tranquil. This is our pure original being, which existed before we saw ourself as self, before we percieved others, and before we started to think others were the source of our pleasure and our suffering."
Lama Surya Das - Awakening The Buddha Within 1997

GLOBAL HOTSPOTS

Joe Klein @ TIME see http://www.time.com/time/columnist/klein/article/0,9565,1071193-1,00.html

The truth is people are just too busy with their own situations to give time to the larger picture. Add to that the complexity of the global predicament and the risk of misunderstanding ...and presto we have a growing sense of apathy when it comes to truly understanding the global situation today.

CULTURE OF DEATH

Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear & the Selling of American Empire examines how a radical fringe of the Republican Party has used the trauma of the 9/11 terror attacks to advance a pre-existing agenda to radically transform American foreign policy while rolling back civil liberties and social programs at home....seehttp://www.mediaed.org/

Liberal Senator Michel Biron is a FUCKING MORON

Here's the reason why the world has gone to the dogs. This stupid moron - supposedly educated - living off the dole ( that's your dollar ) has seen fit to stand up for a fucking sociopath. And in my best french accent he says "whell Hi gho to da triael cuz she his dha victem ....er rit as duh Canudien his hat rhisk." You fucking moron...the day that unelected senators start standing up for child killers is the day we can kiss our true rights goodbye. The fish stinks from the head.

UPDATED: JUNE 22/05. The stinking sack of stupidity has apologised. He's suuuuuuch a looooser. Isn't appointment to the Canadian Senate a grand thing. History Today

"We are caught in a situation in which every citizen of every country, his children, and his life's work, are threatened by the terrible insecurity which reigns in our world today. The process of technological development has not increased the stability and the welfare of humanity. Because of our inability to solve the problem of international organization, it has actually contributed to the dangers which threaten peace and the very existance of mankind"
Open Letter to U.N. Albert Einstein 1947.

"The dogmas whose birth we are witnessing will soon have the force of the old dogmas."
Gustave Le Bon - The Crowd - 1896

"...what is real individualism in the contemporary secular state? If it is self gratification, then this is the golden age. If it has to do with personal public commitment, then we are witnessing the death of the individual and living in an age of unparalleled conformism. Specialization and professionalism ...have served to build defensive cells in which the individual is locked."
J. Ralston Saul - Voltaire's Bastards - 1993

"Groups tend to move toward a consensus, discouraging disagreement and often making poor decisions because people are afraid to disagree with what they think what their leaders want."
Irving Janis (1982) in Ten Questions by Joel M. Charon

"When we live as if the multiplicity of the phenomenal universe were the creator of all truths, and treat the world about us as if its shifting scale of values were the only measure of our ultimate good, the world becomes an illusion."
Thomas Merton - The Ascent to Truth - 1951

One day a man came to the teacher Bayazid and said: "I have fasted and prayed for thirty years and have found none of the spiritual joy of which you speak.""If you had fasted and prayed for three hundred years, you would never find it," answered the sage."How is that?" asked the man."Your selfishness is acting as a veil between you and God.""Tell me the cure.""It is a cure you cannot carry out," said Bayazid. Those around him pressed him to reveal it. After a time he spoke. "Go to the nearest barbershop and have your head shaved; strip yourself of your clothes except for a loincloth. Take a nosebag full of walnuts, hang it around your neck. Go into the market place and cry out-'Anybody who gives me a slab on the neck shall have a wallnut.' Then proceed to the law courts and do the same thing.""I cant do that," said the man, "suggest some other remedy.""This is the indespensable preliminary to a cure," answered Bayazid, "but as I told you, you are incurable."
al-Ghazzali 1964
