YOU Think You Know Me But You Haven't Got a Clue

WOMEN'S ASS SIZE STUDY
There is a new study out about women and how they feel about their asses..the results were pretty interesting: 85% of women think their ass is too big...10% of women think their ass is too little...The other 5% say that they don't care, they love him, he's a good man, and they would have married him anyway.

The Unidentifiable

My two sons and I were returning from the theater recently-Jan 1, 2005- when we were approaching home I noticed something in the sky above a near by power station. It was oddly hovering, yet it was not stationary. It moved in a slow irregular manner. The weirdest thing about it was...in the area surrounding the floating vertical arrow shaped item, colour and space seemed to blur as if heat convection currents were eminating from it. I stopped the car and asked my boys, "Hey guys do you see that thing?" I obviously thought I was seeing things....but I wasn't. Both boys retorted "What is it?" Not wanting to scare them I said ...."I don't know? What do you think it is?" My youngest described it as a computer "finger pointing icon." My oldest boy said it looked like an "arrow head." I thought it looked like a partial flame in the sky. Its colour was white. I raced home to get a camera but it was not there when we returned. However at the above link is a test in which nine pictures of UFO's are posted. Seven of them are hoaxes or explainable phenomenon. I performed the test and indeed found that picture which most closely resembled what we saw was entitled an actual unidentified flying object. The world is indeed a strange and wonderful place. We are naive to think we are alone in the universe. Just a thought.

Obscene Profits Gouge Everyone

In recent history big profits have surged in industries that society has come to rely on. When do the obscene profits taken from all become too much. Investors however demand profitability and will divest of stock (demand repayment) in times of unprofitability. This process of pure unadulterated greed will only ensure the rich stay rich and the poor get ...prison. Maximizing gain and minimizing loss in business cycles*

Industry Profit
Insurance 4.1 Billion http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1108741020269_104150220?hub=Canada

Banks 9 Billion
http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/12/04/national041203

Pharmaceuticals 37 Billion
http://www.actupny.org/treatment/PharmcoProfits.html

What of electricity, oil, natural gas...all the same big profits. What of those who cannot afford to invest in the stock of a company? I guess they're supposed to use the product and shut up. It wouldn't be so bad if the profits went back into the community but in large they don't. They go into private accounts which may or may not result in reinvestment into the region which supplied the profit. It's a great system hu? "We all live under the haunting fear that something may corrupt the environment to the point where...our fate could perhaps be sealed twenty or more years before the development of the symptoms."D.E. Price-'Is Man Becoming Obsolete' The environment we live in is one of community and it is indeed collapsing-as Dubya Bush is proving.......
It appears the robber barrons are looting the store while the masses await huddled in cue for their meager rations of bread. Don't worry it appears the circus is in town!

Another Day in Paradise

So much to say so little time. This is pure unscripted off the top blog. Where to start. This last week has been chaotic, in world affairs, in local news (Canada), in my personal life, in my professional career, etc...Some days I swear I wish the world would stop for just a moment and people could realize what we have and what we're loosing.
In world news the Kyoto Protocol is not even signed and it's falling apart...see
http://www.mindfully.org/Air/2004/US-Pollution-Policy6oct04.htm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4077193.stm
http://www.scotianwindfields.org/index.php/article/articleview/281/1/9
I wish the leaders would quit thinking short term gain and realize what the world requires is a long term plan. Pathetic leaders with their fat pay arguing sematics as the world collapses. #$%$ing amazing how truly stupid these "leaders" are! Oops did I say that out loud? No, therefore on to the next point...local news...in Canada billions of dollars have gone missing but nobody seems to realize or understand how such actions contribute to the demoralization of a population of voters. Funny how elected leaders quickly loose touch with the real world once they're oh so comfortable enjoying the perks that come with being an elected leader. The fish stinks from the head! http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/groupaction/chretien_statement.html
By the way Jean......nice balls....
Now in my personal life...they're closing my sons school....again. After transferring them to another school - now this one's closing. I understand it's all demographics but do things always have to occur in such a random reactionary type mode? Is there anybody at the wheel?
Aparently small schools result in better education that is why Ontario is closing small schools to make bigger schools where education is.......secondary!http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpost/news/toronto/story.html?id=ed254f4b-8072-40ee-a0f9-79ff2bebfec6
Class now repeat after me, can you say elected leaders have "ULTERIOR MOTIVES"
Another case of short sighted reactionary vision. If I may use the term "vision" so loosely.
In my professional life...did you know the inability to read is a plague that is underminding the fabric of society? Think about it ..."Illiteracy is not a fact of life but a consequence of inaction on the part of governments and societies. Its consequences are pervasive and powerful. If we wish to combat poverty, injustice and the violence that so often results from them, we must begin by mobilizing minds through education and literacy..." ~ Frederico Mayor. The truth is nearly a third of the people in the region in which I live are functionally illiterate. http://www.worldlit.ca/facts.html How does illiteracy affect your community? Find out, the issue is apparently on numerous government's back burner.
Thus I teach.

POWER IS EXEMPT FROM MORAL PRINCIPLE

"Self declared enlightened states...have the power to determine norms and they apply them selectively, at will, while basking in self praise. This is the perogative of power today."

POWER/KNOWLEDGE

Well now that the cat's out of the bag ....in case you didn't know, Strom Thurmond had an affair with an African American Woman when he was 22 (she was 15) and then went on to fight against de-segregation in the Southern United States. Hmmmmmmm, pretty interesting stuff hu? The child who was the result of that affair has now written a book entitled DEAR SENATOR: A MEMOIR BY THE DAUGHTER OF STROM THURMOND.
This is proof that indeed man can live a lie. I wish all the very best to Essie May Washington-Williams, and hope that your story makes big headlines....unfortunatly to date I've only seen it in the Canadian press.

Thought of the day,
"Feminist movement is vital both in its power to liberate us from the terrible bonds of sexist oppression and its potential to radicalize and renew other liberation struggles." Bell Hooks

"The real world is to a large extent unconsciously built up on the language habits of the group...We see and hear and otherwise experience very largely as we do because the language habits of our community perdispose certain choices of interpretation." Ben Lee Whorf

My Ongoing Existential Crisis

Truthful words are not beautiful; beautiful words not truthful.
Lau Tzu, LXXXI

I think therefore I am is anthropocentrically myoptic and an idea which missed it's mark and whose time has passed. An idea is nothing without it's utterance to another. A thought once uttered becomes something more. There is not a truth that exists in a void. A statement is ratified by a reciever and thus the sender is individualized as the messages proponent. If the statement is not ratified then a discussion ensues and different dimentions of a concept come into fruition via the facticity of their utterance. Man's being grows out of his relation to the other.

Bob Marley, Them Belly Full.
Cost of livin' gets so high,Rich and poor they start to cry:Now the weak must get strong; They say, "Oh, what a tribulation!"Them belly full, but we hungry;A hungry mob is a angry mob.

Bob Marley, Rat Race.
When you think is peace and safety:A sudden destruction.Collective security for surety, ye-ah!Don't forget your history;Know your destiny:In the abundance of water,The fool is thirsty

Marlow ceased, and sat apart, indistinct and silent, in the pose of a meditating Buddha. Nobody moved for a time. 'We have lost the first of the ebb,' said the Director, suddenly. I raised my head. The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds, and the tranquil waterway leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed sombre under an overcast sky-seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness.
Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness

Optically Deluded

When NAFTA went into effect in Mexico (Jan 1, 1994) the poorest regions of Mexico revolted. Later that same year, approximatly four months later, a genocidal civil conflict broke out in Rwanda killing untold numbers, America (as well as the world) failed to respond. Profit without regard for people is not what mankind is supposed to be about....is it?

With the death of 140,000+ in the Asian Tsunami money rolled in to the tune of 7 billion dollars! What then do we say about the 210,000 children who die every week of preventable disease? Governments must wake up, people must wake up, the whole entire first world must wake up! www.amnesty.org
